Medication Policy
A Medication Request form must be completed and signed in order for Grand View staff to administer any medication. All medicine must be checked in at the front desk.
Prescription Medication must be in the original container labeled with the child’s name,
and include the name of the drug, the dosage, directions for administering, and the
physician’s name.
Non-Prescription Medications must be in the original container labeled with the child’s name, and include the dosage and directions for administering. We will not administer non-prescriptions medication more than three consecutive days without specification on the label or instructions from a physician.
Emergency Medical Care — In an emergency, when immediate medical attention is needed, we will call 911 and then contact the child’s parents. After 911 has been called, the E.M.T.’s will decide on the appropriate action. If he/she needs emergency treatment, he/she will be transported to the nearest medical facility.

Weather Closures
We close due to inclement weather when the Oregon City Public Schools are closed. When O.C. schools delay opening, we will attempt to open by 9:00 a.m. Please watch the network news stations for information. When O. C. schools are closed for Christmas Break, you may call the Day Care voicemail for closure information at
503-632-8102 Ext. 119.
Attendance and Absenteeism
To help our teachers plan their lessons and our cook to prepare lunches and snacks we need to keep accurate attendance records. Teachers are scheduled based on the anticipated number of children in each age group. If your schedule changes, and we are not aware of it, there may not be a place available for your child that day. Please call the office by 8:00 a.m. if your child cannot attend on any given day.
In order to provide the best care for our children and fair wage to our employees, we cannot give credit from the monthly tuition for time your child is not present due to illness. Our teachers and property owner must be paid without regard to attendance, so we ask that you continue your payments to us. Please review the Tuition Policies/Parent Contract for information about vacation periods.
We consider our services similar to enrolling a course at a college or university. Once enrolled, students pay a set tuition, whether they go to each and every class our not. Please consider our drop-in daily or hourly rates if you wish to attend sporadically.
