Pastor Mike Mutchler has a tremendous passion for God's Word coupled with a love for God's people. He has a contagious spirit of generosity that overflows throughout every facet of his ministry.
Pastor Mutchler was raised in a Christian home and was called to preach as a teenager, under the leadership of his home town Pastor, Bro. Paul Sitton. Dr. Mutchler later attended Bible College and worked for different churches in the summer months as a youth pastor. He met wife, Vicky during one such summer and the pair were married soon after. Pastor Mutchler took his first pastorate at a church following graduation. Pastor Mutchler and Mrs. Vicky welcomed their first born daughter, Adrian shortly there after. Pastor Mutchler went on to pastor Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Conway, AR. While serving there, Ryan, their oldest son was born. The Lord was blessing, folks were getting saved and lives were being changed but after years of faithful service and God's blessings on the country church, Pastor Mutchler felt God calling him and his young family to the Northwest, and more specifically, Oregon.
Oregon at the time, had the most percentage of un-churched. Pastor Mutchler had a real burden to reach those un-churched people by starting a Bible believing church were lives could be changed through God's Word. Pastor Mutchler has seen the fulfillment of Ephesians 3:20 -"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think", in his life and ministry. Shortly after arriving in Oregon, Jonathon the Mutchler's second son was born and a year and a half later, Alex, the Mutchler's youngest son was born. Beginning with seventy-five people in attendance the first service, Grand View Baptist Church now has hundreds of families that call it home. On Sundays and throughout the week, you’ll find Pastor Mutchler, faithfully preaching and teaching God's Word. Pastor & Mrs. Mutchler are also proud grandparents to Will, Craig & Miles Hixon, & Julia & Kate Mutchler.
Pastor Mutchler's vision is uncompromisingly clear, with one central principle -- to reach people for the Lord and change lives by the preaching and teaching of God's Word. Holding firmly to the commission in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”. Pastor Mutchler has had the opportunity to take the gospel into churches all over the country and in different parts of the world such as, India, the Philippines and Mexico.
Pastor Mutchler is currently teaching a new adult class, "The Grand View Connection" that outlines the history of the church and where it is headed in the future.
